Eligibility

To participate in those, any applicant must be a natural or a legal person of an EU Member State or European Economic Area (EEA), European Neighbouring Countries (ENP), South/East countries or other countries with which the EU has space dialogues and cooperation: USA, Canada, Latin America, Africa, Gulf Cooperation Countries, Kazahstan, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand.

The 2021 Organiser

Fundació Privada Knowledge Innovation Market Bcn (KIMbcn)
KIM is an entity which seeks to align the expectations of industry and research and technological centres to exploit the opportunities of Open Innovation with the aim of stimulating the knowledge economy in Spain. KIM has been collaborating with ESA since 2012, when it was entrusted with the assessment, prioritisation and analysis of the patent portfolio of the Agency with regard to its application in non-space sectors in Spain. In 2016, the European Space Agency (ESA) selected KIM as the new ESA broker in Spain. KIM has the role of detecting business innovations developed by the Spanish space industry and ESA technologies in order to market them in the non-space sector.

Generalitat de Catalunya
The Generalitat is the institutional system in which the self-government of Catalonia is organised politically. The main objectives are: promoting the digital technologies sector in Catalonia through initiatives aimed at increasing their added value, promoting research, innovation and specialised knowledge and coordinating the promotion policies of the Catalan ICT sector, and promoting the creation and deployment in Catalonia of the digital and electronic communications infrastructures that are suitable for bringing advanced connectivity services and access to digital services to the public, to companies and to public institutions.

Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona
La Cambra Oficial de Comerç, Indústria, Serveis i Navegació de Barcelona is a public law corporation that provides services to companies, contributing to the regeneration of the economic fabric and the creation of employment, and dedicating itself to its function of representing, promoting and defending the general interests of commerce, industry, services and navigation.

Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya
The IEEC (Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) is a research institute that studies all areas of space and space sciences, including astrophysics, cosmology, planetary science, Earth observation, and space engineering. Its mission is to push the frontiers of space research from the scientific and technological domains for the ultimate benefit of society.

Associació Catalana d’Enginyers de Telecomunicació
The Catalan Association of Telecommunications Engineers is a private entity that has been representing telecommunication engineers in Catalonia since 1992. Telecos.cat supports and promotes the careers of graduates in telecommunications engineering, electronic and audiovisual media. Telecos.cat aims at providing basic services to its members: legal advice and work tools for professional development, training, subscription to magazines and technical publications, discounts on products and services, etc.

Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)
The Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) is a non-profit research institution resulting from a public initiative by the Regional Government of Catalonia. Research activities at the CTTC, both fundamental and applied, mainly focus on technologies related to the physical, data-link and network layers of communication systems and to geomatics.

All Copernicus Prizes are co-funded by the European Commission’s DG Defence, Industry and Space to foster the market uptake of EU Space data.
