“New Dimensions” under this leitmotif, the potential and future of remote sensing for Germany will be highlighted and discussed at the forum.
New dimensions are opening up for remote sensing and Copernicus in particular. In 2020, the new EU Space Regulation comes into force – the legal basis for the Copernicus programme for another seven years. At the same time, this also means financing security and predictability for all participating and future actors. Together with the programme decision of the ESA Council of Ministers Conference at the end of 2019, the course will thus be set for the further development of the ambitious Earth observation programme, which for Germany is an important component of Europe’s strategic autonomy.
