Knowledge Innovation Market (KIM)

Knowledge Innovation Market (KIM)

KIM is an entity that seeks to align the expectations of industry and research and technological centres to exploit the opportunities of Open Innovation with the aim of stimulating the knowledge economy in Spain. KIM has been collaborating with ESA since 2012, when it was entrusted with the assessment, prioritisation and analysis of the patent portfolio of the Agency for their application in non-space sectors in Spain. In 2016, the European Space Agency (ESA) selected KIM as the new ESA broker in Spain. KIM has the role of detecting business innovations developed by the Spanish space industry and ESA technologies in order to market them in the non-space sector.

Generalitat de Catalunya

The Generalitat is the institutional system in which the self-government of Catalonia is organised politically. The main objectives are: Promoting the deployment and integration of digital technologies in all areas of Catalan society. Promoting the digital technologies sector in Catalonia through initiatives aimed at increasing their added value, promoting research, innovation and specialised knowledge and coordinating the promotion policies of the Catalan ICT sector. Promoting the creation and deployment in Catalonia of the digital and electronic communications infrastructures that are suitable for providing advanced connectivity services and access to digital services to the public, to companies and to public institutions. Preparing and directing the strategic research and innovation programmes regarding advanced digital technologies, promoting and coordinating Government policies and programmes related to the promotion and development of smart cities technologies, massive data technologies (big data) and mobile technologies, among others.

ICEYE is the first organisation in the world to successfully launch synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) satellites with a launch mass under 100 kg.

BHDynamics

"The best is yet to come ..." #BHDynamics is a company dedicated to supporting and offering its experience in electronics development to startups and companies related to disruptive technology, industry 4.0 and new space. Currently, its electronic designs and assemblies are used in various internationally renowned research centres related to nanomaterials, science and nano-biotechnology. It also works on the development of electronics related to thruster impulsion systems, OBC and EPS for picosatellites. #BHDynamics is a pioneer in the development of python programmable picosatellites for teaching use in universities and training centres.

Intelligent Consulting

Making space technologies reach the market needs. With extensive industry experience in the areas of Earth observation, GNSS applications and Smart Cities. Providing consultancy services plus education, training and dissemination activities promoting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) to society.

Lobelia

Turning data into useful information. Lobelia uses Earth observation (EO) data and climate projections to assess vulnerabilities, risks and opportunities associated with climate scenarios for each particular case and region of interest. We work in monitoring, forecasting and planning, often from open and free data acquired by European satellites under the Copernicus programme.

LEVITAS R&D

The aim of Levitas R&D is to develop cost-effective launch vehicles to counter the problem of space debris so as to ensure that future innovation and exploration will be secure. In addition, it is set to be the first space company in what is known as the GREEN SPACE INITIATIVE to develop a de-orbiting mechanism for space debris in our orbits and will also collaborate at an international level to launch all kinds of devices developed during the research phase.

Open Cosmos

Open Cosmos provides simple and affordable small satellite missions to help solve the world’s biggest challenges. Open Cosmos removes space access barriers by simplifying space technology, offering a one-stop shop to orbit, reducing time and costs. It offers space mission design and operations software, payload development, test and qualification kits, and end-to-end mission development, including satellite manufacturing, payload integration, logistics, launch, mission operations and decommissioning. Through partnerships with organisations like the European Space Agency (ESA), it offers mission development and testing services to universities and startups.

Parc UPC, the Science and Technology Park of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), is a highly concentrated knowledge and technology centre whose mission is to return value to society and promote better quality of life. UC3M SCIENCE PARK has extensive experience in project management, entrepreneurship supporting activities, technology-based start-up development and spinoff creation. UC3M has been an Incubator Centre of ESA BIC Madrid Region since 2015 (1 of 5 centres in Spain). UC3M SCIENCE PARK leads the project Go2Space-HUBs with the creation of 3 Space HUBs in Coimbra, Madrid and Tallinn. The HUBs have extensive experience in providing support to start-ups and are supported by entities that are experts on access to finance services and technology transfer. Other partners of the Science Park are TECPAR (Polad), Europe Unlimited (Brussels), TEHNOPOL (Estonia), IPN (Portugal) and Madrid Aerospace Cluster (Spain)

Astropreneurs

Astropreneurs Accelerator is a three-month acceleration programme that includes business and technical mentorship, support to fund your business idea and access to the SPACE Economy “Astropreneurs” network. Through the Astropreneurs Accelerator, participants can benefit from this mentorship and the “space economy network” of investors, industry and supporting agencies to scale their business and better capitalize on target markets and global opportunities. Start-ups can also gain access to Astropreneurs workshops and initiatives aimed at a wider audience.
