While smart irrigation technologies benefit farmers in the form of higher crop yields and efficient resource management, they are expensive and require maintenance (and eventual replacement). EOmatic is an API platform that helps optimise irrigation using only satellite data. It creates soil moisture maps with 10-metre spatial resolution by analysing a combination of soil, crop, and irrigation data and Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. The system automatically sends actionable, easy-to-understand notifications (including irrigation forecasts) to the user several times a week. EOmatic helps farmers and agricultural companies optimise irrigation, save time on geospatial data analysis, and use fewer soil sensors. Customers benefit from reduced water loss, lower fertilisation requirements, and more sustainable agriculture.
